On-Call Nursery

Nursery Families & Volunteers: Starting January, a new “On Call” role will be added to Nursery to enhance staffing to better care for and support families, staff and volunteers. The on call volunteer will be asked to be on hand the Sunday scheduled to fill in for someone out the last minute or if the room is full and an extra set of hands is needed. Volunteers may check their email inboxes for additional details about how serving on call will work (sent last week), and you may also contact Dana Russell (dana@ctkcambridge.org) for more information or with questions.

12/24 Nursery

Nursery Families: Please note that with inadequate staffing and anticipation of lower numbers of children with many traveling, Nursery will NOT be open for drop-off care (for children 3 years and under) during the 4pm Christmas Eve service. Here’s what we plan to make available for families to choose what works best for them: the livestream of the service and a selection of toys will be available in the Social Hall and the nursery rooms will be open for diaper changing, nursing mothers or families in need of a quiet space.

Advent Wreath

Parents, in the service this Sunday we will continue our Advent celebration by lighting the next candle in our wreath! Presenters will prepare a special teaching for the kids and, as has been the tradition at CTK, we’ll invite any children who would like to come up to the front to sit (parents, feel free to escort them). Families are also welcome to remain in the pew if preferred.

Housing Needed

Emily Berry is a Christian and a friend of CTK alums, the Soria family. She is looking for an extra room to stay in while in Boston from Nov 12- Dec 25th (she could also stay a shorter time - Nov 12 - Dec 4th). She is a ballet dancer and is dancing in Jose Mateo’s Dance Theatre’s Nutcracker. If you have space for any or all of that timeframe, please reach out to Emily at emilyhelman97@gmail.com.

Advent Materials

Advent is just around the corner! To get ready to enter this season of preparation and anticipation, Travis and Dana would like to share this list of curated advent devotional resources with selections for adults as well as for families with kids of all ages. May you find one that helps you reflect on the promises of Scripture as you await and celebrate the coming of Christ our King.

XC Skiing

Women's XC Ski Trip: For the third year, a group of CTK women and other friends are venturing north for a weekend of cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and conversations by the fire. The trip will occur on President's Day weekend (Feb 16-18). We'll be travelling to southern Vermont (exact location TBD, but within a 2.5 hour drive). Even if you've never skied, feel free to come and learn -- we'll go to a location with equipment rentals and lessons available. Lodging will be in a VRBO (or two) chosen after we know the number of attendees -- signup (including a $100 non-refundable deposit) is required by December 15. For more information, contact Katy Carter (katycar@gmail.com). **note: this is not a CTK-sponsored event
