Bible Story/Passage: Genesis 1:26–28, 2:7,18, 21-23

Teaching points:

  • God created human beings “in his image.” This means we are not God, but we are like God in some ways.

  • God also made Adam and Eve so that they could have children. He wanted the earth to be filled with people to love Him and praise Him.

At-Home Discussion Starters:

  1. We are some ways we are like God because He made us in His image? E.g. minds to think/ reason, an understanding of right and wrong, ability to communicate and talk with God (pray), should take a day of rest (Sabbath), were created pure and without sin (though we know they didn’t stay that way)

  2. Talk about some of the differences with Adam and Eve being distinctly created as male and female.
